The Western Stampede began in 1967 when the Cervi family purchased the renowned Beutler Brothers Rodeo Company. Then, in 1974, they acquired the Billy Minick Rodeo Company, formerly owned by well-known producers Harry Knight and Gene Autry. This made the Cervi family the largest stock contractor in the nation and they renamed the company Cervi Championship Rodeo. This marks the 8th year that the Cervi Championship is part of the 67th Annual Western Stampede PRCA Rodeo.
