Gardner Village is a unique and historic Utah destination located in West Jordan, Utah. This charming village is a hidden gem, offering the perfect combination of modern amenities and a rustic atmosphere that is reminiscent of the early Utah pioneer mill industry. Established in 1980, Gardner Village is home to a variety of local shops, restaurants, and event venues that make it an ideal destination for an unforgettable Utah experience.

History

Gardner Village was originally founded in 1877 by Scottish immigrant Archibald Gardner. He and his family had settled in Utah in 1847, and by the 1850s, he had established a bustling hub on the west side of the Jordan River. Logs were hauled by horse teams from the Bingham Canyon to build the first West Jordan flour mill in 1853. Over 20 years later, the original mill was moved and replaced by a larger one, and this is now home to Archibald’s Restaurant and CF Home Furniture & Design.

In 1979, Gardner Village was purchased by Nancy Long, who had originally intended to turn the mill into her family’s home. However, with her retail experience and entrepreneurial spirit, she instead decided to turn it into a furniture store, and Country Furniture and Gifts (now CF Home) opened in May of 1980. A decade later, Nancy’s dream of opening a restaurant in the mill came true with the opening of Archibald’s Restaurant.
